Aaah yes, in view of Gran Sasso to the West of you. Looked at a place there on t'other side (Westerly) bout 20 km or so South of Aquila ��
Can't recall the exact name of the place, but in final analysis didn't take the punt as a little too close to Aquila. whence sure enough bout 18 months later that devastating recent / last one hit!
My fave place is Lucca ( walled part of course) an almost purchased in the lower reaches of Appenines just 30 East of it.
If I had bottomless pockets would have taken up in Tuscany close to San Gimignano.

Being of 'the right sort' did you venture onto The curva sud ? Lots of shouting, threatening, gesticulating but not much else (Italians eh ��).
Venice : all should see just once at least.
On that score I've just had another comical thought, Sax in middle St Marks and seasonal 'shoe wetting' arrives: ' cripes everyone ' PANIC!
