Martin has been far from convincing so would not be surprised.
Yet another example of Naysmith's many failings.
None of his signings - with the exception of Fordyce - have significantly improved the team and he has shown he has little confidence in them.
Rooney and Mercer only get in the team when there are injuries, he identified Stirling then punted him and took a chance on McFadden which was a complete mistake.
Having said that, I think both Rooney and Mercer are showing signs of improvement.
I do not understand why he does not play Rooney as right midfield or wing -back, whatever it is called nowadays. Well actually I do because the Manager does not like to play with players roving forward wide and either crossing or getting into the box themselves.
It's certainly the type of football I like to see but have been sadly starved of since Naysmith came in.
People are currently concerned with our financial situation, well this Manager has not used his budget wisely and has not got value for money.
I note that Martin is contracted for another season. Why on earth was that done ?
There have been far superior players than him in recent years who had to make do with 1 year deals from season to season - unbelievable !
Will this be another contract the Club has to 'pay up' due to Naysmith's failings ?
If he wasn't going to keep Robinson then he should have kept Atkinson either as no.1 or as competition.
He would not have been any worse than Martin but Naysmith decided he was having a clear-out which has cost the Club money and not significantly improved us.
His incompetence is being masked by the fact that if it wasn't for Dobbie we would be heading for the relegation play-offs.
The only contracts worth paying up would be Naysmith and Anderson's to get rid but given the money they have wasted already that may not be possible.
Surely they will be on 'rolling contracts' of no more than one year - anything else would be a huge mistake.
