I'm not blaming him for the last 28yrs but surely even the happiest of happy clappers can see that the last few years have been easier. Being the 2nd best team in Scotland will mean nothing in years to come. At least we are still in it this year but if we can't beat anyone we need to beat to win it.

I've always been shot down when I suggested that we should be winning cups. Usually with the "it's not our right" and "we only started winning things in the 80s".

As the 3rd biggest team in Scotland and the 2nd best over the last few years, we surely should, statistically be expected to win more.

So why haven't we?

For me it's summed up by having our most creative player asked to mark a defender. Then to have folk suggest that it worked.

We will always be no marks as things stand. It'll be back to being happy with finishing 3rd and making semi finals. It's been coming for a while.

A certain Mr Milne has to take a lot of the blame, though the rot did start before him probably after 91 when we lost the league title on the last day, I mean its crazy to think we havent won the Scottish Cup in 28 yrs back then people would have laughed at you if you told them AFC wont win another Scottish Cup going on 30yrs, whilst smaller clubs have won it multiple/triple times in that period.

Our whole club culture and ambition since the earlyish/mid 90s has just been to make do as also rans-club needs gutting from top to bottom in every aspect.

Yeah you are right it probably has been easier the last few years.

But surely the 3rd biggest team in Scotland should have been able to win it since 1990 considering the likes of Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd won it in the 90s.

We have had a few attempts at it since but sadly we haven't been able to beat the cheeks in a final since 89/90.

Nah min I fully expect a Kris Boyd winner on Saturday. Killie have a atrocious record v us. On par with McAnus and his big game record. When better for them to end the hoodoo than the SC at Pittodrie

The biggest indictment on DM is that his teams have always been less than the sum of its parts.
Even now the players we have in the squad are better than the results the team produce. Rodgers, Lennon, Murty, Levein or Clarke would produce a better team than DM does with the same players.
