Unfortunately, due to incredibly poor timing on my folks part, I’ve only been going since the late 80s. I am genuinely interested to hear what shyte you’ve seen prior to that.

For instance, how would it compare to the game I watched at Firhill in 2002, when Patterson sent out a team with a midfield of Young, Billio, Tiernan & Fabiano, to supply the deadly strike force of Mike & Mackie? Or the Sigma game, the 9-0, Queens Park, Q.O.S. There are all fairly recent events. Nobody on here would need to have travelled that far or wide to get a healthy take on what shyte truly is.

This team is nowhere near that of course but neither was Alex Smiths & you’re not telling me he didnt deserve the sack.

You've certainly listed some horrendous games, some of which should have seen the manager instantly sacked (McGhee etc). You are also right to point out that we have sacked managers in the past from a relatively strong position compared with later managers that got away with murder. However we are not yet at a Smith situation. At the time we sacked Smith he was on a run of 3 wins in 17 league matches in a season that we lost in the early round of the LC to Airdrie, lost in the first round of the UEFA cup and our first round of the SC (albeit to a very strong Rangers). All on the back of the last day at Ibrox the previous season.

McInnes should not be sacked now in my opinion but ask me again if he matches Smith's record and only wins 3 of his next 15 league games. I suspect we will do a whole lot better than Smith's run.

He won't be sacked because in the end he does not merit being sacked. More importantly he can't be sacked because of the dire financial consequences to the club added to the prospects that in all likelihood we wouldn't get anyone better. My opinion on this will probably change again soon but right now I would prefer if he left voluntarily ( although that could quite easily come back to bite me on the erse if his successor turns out to be a dud) but again that is highly unlikely given his present wage and the unlikelihood of him getting a better gig right now.

Surely opinions are allowed and while Clarke is within his right to defend his player I would think that asking for your peer to be sanctioned by the authorities oversteps that and is the same as players trying to get opposition players booked. This should mean that Clarke should be the one told to shut up by the SFA but won't happen because as ever the only reason the story is printed is to get it right up us from the weegia.

Is that including dereks magnificent title win with st Johnstone in the old 1st divivdion. Next season they played exciting football and scored 23 league goals, quality coaching must have done a lot of game management at nil nil

This is early March and I reckon that Del won’t win another 6 matches between now and the season ends.
We are lacking a bit fighting spirit and for reasons thanks to our manager we don’t perform in bigger matches.

You think so.
The general consensus is that he beats the lower placed teams and struggles in the top 6.
There is a minimum of 11 games left this season, so your predicting McInnes wont win 55% of the games he has potentially left.
Given his win rate is circa 56% since he joined Aberdeen, it's not a stretch to consider it may be tough to win more than his average, given we play 5 of those games post split against the top half.

Our next 6 games are all winnable.
Partick Thistle at home
Kilmarnock away (cup replay)
Dundee at home
St Johnstone at home
Motherwell away
Hearts away.

It's entirely possible we would win 4 of those and maybe draw a couple (Motherwell and Hearts away).
We then have the split, so possible to beat Kilmarnock, Hearts and Hibs

It was pretty difficult to see from the tv footage. There was definitely some contact. I suppose it could be argued that Jones was on his way down when Logan ran into the back of him. Killie should have had a penalty from the Christie foul on Brophy.

Managers come out with a lot worse. I don't think the SFA will bother their arse on this one.

It is a tough one, I do think Jones won the penalty kick by going down and there was contact after.
The thing is as a defender, you can't make any contact in the box, else there is an argument for the pen.
Jones did we'll to get in front of Logan and ensure contact was made and obvious.

The Christie / Brophey claim was much harder to see and definitely at first glance in real time, would not have appeared that there was any contact from Christie and just a fresh air swipe by Brophey
