Title was lost months ago - the players downing tools and poor managers tactics now leave us fighting for a place in the top 4.
United will lose more games this Season, the players are not going to suddenly find their form - it's surely only a matter of a few weeks before St Mirren officially win the league - xmas came early for them.
Also, we were losing games when players such as Fyvie and Fraser were playing.
If Scott McDonald is not going to be playing as an upfront striker then he should be dropped from the team - he is no use in other position - there are too many passengers in the team already.
Fraser's form was decent but it's Fyvie we've missed the most, he was our best player just before his injury and was bossing games.
Agree but both together was a really big loss
Fyvie was upto speed and dominating games and dictating play for us, no chance of replacing at short notice, he is without doubt a top six prem quality player
Hope we can keep him for next season, and Fraser but have doubts
Fraser and Fyvie were in both the United teams which lost 0-2 to Inverness in October and also the team which drew 1-1 with Brechin in Nov.
Fyvie was also in the team which lost 2-0 to Livingston in Oct and Fraser played in the team which lost to Dumbarton.
Also, when the injured players do return, they won't be match fit. There is no quick fix.
St Mirren have won the league and sadly, if we are nor careful we might struggle to make the top 4 - never mind winning the play offs.
I repeat
Not after McKinnon left and both were upto speed, they were improving by the game, we went on a great run and looked every bit title challengers until the two were injured late December, so lets not ignore that fact
Quick fix? Can't see that being suggested anywhere, think most people know 2nd is the aim now
Sadly the team last year was better than this current team.
Why that is - is open to debate.
Last season you could argue we had the 2nd best squad in the division. This season we're not in the top half. At the start of this season we were all confident we'd assembled the league's best squad. What happened? Chronic injury problems & sh!te January signings.
I thought when we beat QOS at home with 10 men that we were going to win the league
I thought when we beat St Mirren at home under Laurie and were top that we would finish top
Now...I’m living in hope that we can at least be second
