Not with a competent and inspiring manager in charge, even this bunch would run any 11th place side close, getting there though via 3rd/4th would see us fkd by the final anyway

It's a moot point and I know it's a popular one, but I would disagree with that. We were all disappointed that day, but as we all know one of our big weaknesses that season was in the centre of defence, specifically against defending high balls. Credit where it's due, MacNamara recognised that and recruited well in Fojut and Morris to knock that on the head and additionally replaced Robertson well with Townsend. The first half of 2014/15 was better than the previous season, with us genuinely pushing at the top of the league and getting to the League Cup Final, all while still playing very good football.
