I think the difference this time is that if we get ''same again'' Rafa will walk & this will tip the fans over the edge !!!!

I can see a revolution if Rafa doesn't get the support and walks. itwould be an absolute disgrace by this owner, andI for one wouldn't go back,it would hurt, but short term pain long term gain.

The issue is, what is better...seriously?

Massive influx of cash for bigger buys and bigger wages?

Let's hope that, if so, it is sustainable and not a case of ending up with a mountain of big contracts on unsustainable wages with no real progress made.

Just remember that 11 years of Ashley still leaves us in the premier league with a manager that people seem happy with and a position that seemed a world away this season.

Argue all you want about it being Rafa alone and what not but the stark reality is much much deeper than that.

A staveley could be a Brady, eh?

I don't mind Ashley walking away.......IF..... I know that the new owners ensure that, no matter what they try to do for the good of the club, they also have a strong contingency plan for any event that does not pan out as thought...and this is long term ownership strategy that will at the very least leave the club financially stable and fighting at the right end.

    That's all I ask.
    The grass isn't always greener.
I divvint normaly bite, but what a cu nt of a response if Iv'e ever seen one.
Your one horrible miserable fecker,an articulate one mind,I will give you that..
I have to ask though....Do you have a wa nk every time someone bites?
    Pull away I say...

Whilst Ghost has a point, albeit it seems a bit of a glass half empty view, I would have thought that the outpourings of many fans, the thoughts of many pundits and the fact that MA wants out would tell you something. Yes, new owners can be concerning, look at Hull and other teams, yet the idea that we may get worse is hopefully a bit too far removed from reality for me. I would be concerned if we had an owner like Southampton, always selling their best for profit. I think MA stopped that when he realised it didn't really work!

A fresh start with someone with a proven business track record and a desire for success can only be a positive. So I think we should welcome a change that will see out an owner who does not like football (us anyway), does not understand football as a business, and is baffled by fans, to one that wants to see NUFC grow and becomes successful - onward and upward I say to you all!

    That my ten penn'th worth

    It needs to happen!!!!
Yes we could rub along in this limbo with Ashley holding the purse strings as tight as possible
But Rafa won’t want to stay without a decent kitty and who could blame him if he gets sharted on again.

We are near enough safe,it’s time for Ashley to let Rafa know his intentions.
He either stays and starts to put good money into the club to let us compete
    (Which is the minimum requirement)

    Or hopefully
he sells to a new owner with fresh ideas and ambitions to try and push us on to the next level
Ashley has had his fill imo.

Why does anyone think a new owner will be better than ash ??

In only maybe 2-3 cases has this been the case

i am sure there a re a lot more clubs who have cried out for a takeover and get rid of the owner to only get someone worse

in fact i will throw a figure of over 90% of takeovers havent produced what the fans thought

there were a few on here not long back stating that southampton had been taken over debt cleared etc

looks like they are going down
    crown jewels sold
    leeds
    sheffield clubs
    jack walkers club
    coventry
    villa
    cardiff
    many many manay more

    the chicken farmers
    blackpool
    black burn
    hicks a gillett liverpool
the three russiand who took over portsmouth
    gold and sullivan
    the palace lads
kapland and his cronies at swansea
mashiri at everton hasnt delivered what the toffees thought they were getting
the west brom owners have run out of money

you could count on one hand i would think the clubs whos new owners have gone in and improved mid to long term

This is what I mean about people cutting their own noses off to spite their faces and the grass not always being greener.

It is possible that we could get a worse or the same type of owner as Ashley.
I just hope that there has been enough publicity around our situation to warn off any such owner. This is maybe why there isn’t a queue of buyers lined up.
If it was just a matter of running a business and making a profit then It would be easy (Ash has done that). Running a PL club to be succesful requires large investment and high risk, and the importance of Rafa being here for this to work out well cannot be underestimated.

I wonder if Stavley is regretting not taking the plunge 6 months ago?

For me, it's twist rather than stick although 'rather than' gives the wrong impression as I don't think we've got a choice.

Under Ashley we will never progress. He's not interested in moving the club forward, he's only interested in gambling on our survival. relegated twice in 10 years and coming close on a number of other occasions and it'll catch up with us again sooner rather than later. Rafa getting a tune out of these players is a remarkable achievement-a Hughes/Pardew/Lambert/McClaren etc would have them bottom-but I think he'll be off if Ashley stays.

If we want even a chance of progressing he has to go.

    your wrong about the players
heres my reasoning be hind that
rafa had most these players and took us down
why because he pplayed negative defensive footy ,which when you needed points as we did we needed to be more positive .under him then we werent

i still think that if rafa hadnt been more positive like he is now we would have gonde down

my point being these lads played to their stregnths are a top 10-12 team at least .not fizzy as some would say

we kept saying pardew pardewed them
so basically we were saying they are better than he is making them

but under rafa untill recently they were as good as when pardew managed them

it is only the fact that rafa has eventually realsised this and played to their strengths that he is getting a tune from them .

We have some good players and the rest are average prem players

    they arent fizzy players
as they walked that league and have deserved the right to be called prem players

    especially by their own fans
