I suspect there is, and I think deadyoyomagpie has hit the nail on the head in post #49. I can understand your anger because if one of my kids had been subjected to what you suffered I would be seething as well. Have a go at me and I'll cope with it, but involve my kids and it's a different matter entirely. Unfortunately every club has a few 'supporters' who behave like animals at a footy match. Coventry may well have a few more than us because they've got a few more fans than us.
The only other thing that I want to add to this debate, is that after visiting the Sky Blues site, there is plenty of Coventry chatter about Notts fans getting assaulted in that underpass......one Notts guy apparently had a stroke, a few more comments about Notts lads getting "punched in the mouth"....this all brings back memories of the 70s when I was a wee bit nippier and a wee bit tougher.
Navy might have a point about the need for policing there......3,500 views with many Covo fans saying "tough luck"......here is the link

.....and here is the "will Covo fans behave at Notts" thread......seems like quite a few are expecting it to kick off, and quite a few have bought tickets in Notts areas

It’s so bloody sad! Sometimes I’m ashamed to be a fan of football when there is such a dickhead eliment to it. Proud of my club but equally respect that you’re proud of yours. We support different teams, have differing opinions but there is no need to fall out, spit and intimidate people because of the club they follow. Football is a great game, plagued with dickheads unfortunately
After a superb pre match expierience in the coventry supporters bar ,spoilt post match . My daughter and I too had to negotiate that underpass .i sensed trouble as i passed the notts coaches . Diverted through car park and down ramp. 3 times i told my daughter to cover her notts shirt up. When it got nasty, she did .Police were occupied holding cov fans back with batons drawn at top of steps .
Considering not letting her go friday . At least then i can throw a few back if provoked . I know how to look after myself . Any spitting on me will be met by serious right hook . I wonder how many cov fans would have stayed if a few notts had fought back.Picking on families . One word .Cowards . .
I saw the same when crossing Trent Bridge. They had a bunch of pissed up fans kicking off outside the Southbank, one in particular was getting right in the face of a young female officer with threatening language. Then they were trying to kick off outside the Brewhouse but were hemmed in by a bunch policemen - a stark contrast from when we were mingling happily with Luton fans pre-match.
If they were like that before the league game, can you imagine what they'll be like after the playoff game.
I remember saying to my Dad at the time that the one good thing about being in the lower leagues is that we don't have to put up with this level of dickhead behaviour week in week out.

It would appear some County fans were also inciting trouble hence why some of them ended up with a smack. Also reported that some young Sky Blues were picked on after the game...
So yes it can work both ways. Either way nobody wants to see it.
That's the spirit Navypie. Horrible that your lad had to endure what he did and I understand how angry you must be as a parent but the ultimate revenge would be for Notts to stuff them in style on the pitch on behalf of him and all the others who experienced the underpass hospitality.Let's hope that's how it pans out and that his passion for Notts isn't damaged long term.
