Leigh 'scoop' Curtis in the know?

From Jimmy: Now then Leigh, hope you’re well. Any word on O’Connor, DJ and Duffy and their contracts? Also where do you see Kellett playing for us? Know he’s a versatile player. Thanks!

Hi Jimmy, thanks for coming on. Hope you’re having a good day. Understand O’Connor has several offers on the table. It was interesting to hear Danny Cowley at Lincoln give an interview last week talking about signing quality players who are available on a free transfer and that age and location are important. Given they’ve just sold Woodyard there’s an opening there in midfield and Michael lives just outside Lincoln. I would not be surprised at all if they try to sign him. I know the fans want him to stay at Notts, and I hope he does too, because he’s a quality player. He’s very calm and composed on the ball and his performance against Coventry in the second half was exceptional. I think it would be a blow to lose him as he’s experienced too and I think that CM area lacks it. As for Jones, the club is increasingly confident he will put pen to paper on a new contract which I think would be terrific because he was in fine form towards the back end of the season. Not only does he give you pace, but his delivery from set-pieces is very good. And I would expect Richard Duffy to sign a new contract too. With Tootle and Brisley already signed up, if Duffy and Jones put pen to paper then you’ve kept the fourth best defence in the league together. They all know each other’s games so well by now and I’m definitely in favour of having as minimal disruption to your backline as possible.

Apparently, according to that ex agent Twitter account, he said he can't see O'Connor going to Lincoln? He seems to be fairly accurate with information so read into that as you will

Duffy is dreadful. He is not a leader. I said early season we would go nowhere with him playing. he has made countless mistakes that have cost goals. he shouldn't be encouraged to resign.

If we sign a really good quality centre-half I can accept Duffy staying as cover, but he wouldn't be first choice for me. He seems to think that leadership involves arguing with the referee, making ridiculous dramatic dives and telling everyone else what to do whilst making multiple mistakes himself. I also think in this particular league you need some real big brutes at centre-half (a la Graeme Lee and Gary Strodder) and Duffy always looks a bit lacking in height and physicality for me. Brisley's more suitable.
