The VAR referrals are already causing some debate in the tournament and will continue to do so throughout, it's part and parcel of football now. There's too much at stake.

How the feck did they loose that game. Well I know, they missed a penno and had zero luck. With the penalty as soon as the player does a zigzag run up and a couple of checks you know it aint going into the back of the net! Pity but there you go.

You aint kidding, worst game of the tournament so far. Nigeria, blah! With Iwobi and Ingnacho up front they are going nowhere.

Germany-Mexico
Brazil-Switzerland
That’s a pretty good lineup. Costa Rica made it to the quarters four years ago. They have roughly the same roster, but that usually doesn’t go well. Defending champs take on my neighbor to the South. They may be our rival, but I usually enjoy watching Mexico play. But they have a bad record against quality teams in major competitions (7-0 loss to Chile in 2016 Copa America; 4-1 to Germany in Confed Cup last summer). Brazil are a tournament favorite and I expect them to hit the ground running

An excellent free-kick by Kolarov to give Serbia the lead. The game started at a decent pace, but as the first half went on, it started to get boring in my eyes. At least we have a goal now.

Despite only one goal, it’s been a pretty entertaining match. Up and down the pitch from both teams.
