I stood to win £810 if England had won the world cup on a Ladbrokes ladder i had done,it was 10 question's regarding the tournament and i had 9 right,one of them was would England reach the quarter finals and i answered YES due to the jammy draw they had.The final question was would one of Brazil,Spain,Germany or England lift the trophy and again i answered YES thinking it would be between the other 3.
I was happy to lose my initial £10 stake for my 80/1 bet as the mass hysteria was simply getting too much for me and my money would have been long gone but they would still be reminding me on my death bed that they had won it.FACT.

GB - my Dad passed away 10 days ago and bless his cotton socks I reckon he went as the prospect of THEM lifting it again was too much for one lifetime. He always went on about how apparently in 66 a lot of Scots wanted to see England win because it was, well, Germany, i.e. the War and all that, so when they won quite a lot were happy. It was only when they subsequently started going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.........................
