I wouldn’t be surprised if he was sold, although I’d be surprised if he dropped to that standard.
If we play 1 up front, do we need 4 strikers?
And if we needed a 4th, give Bruce Anderson bench time.
Sums up a bonkers window for us if it happens
Huge risk getting rid of Rooney at the moment imo.

Considering we are struggling to sign anyone at the moment plus the fact Rooney is the only striker McInnes has got right in his time here would suggest it’s a huge gamble.

Who are we struggling to sign?? You like me knows eff all about what is going on in the background at AFC. They could be working on several deals and options (and most likely are) behind the scenes.

Moving players on is part of the development process. Rooney has been a brilliant servant for us and if he goes he goes with my blessings. If he stays and is utilised properly he'll still score goals for us.

What's the development process for punting Rooney?

Freshen up the squad. I'm sure Rooney doesn't want to sit on the bench. Freeing up a decent wage.

    Players come, players go.

Rooney has been a great servant to Aberdeen FC and I personally would like him to stay but he's fallen down the pecking order now and it looks like May is still McInnes's number one striker which is understandable after spending £400k on him. Hopefully May is fitter and more settled this season.

Freshen up the squad by punting our top goalscorer and replacing him with two strikers that have 4 goals between them?

How can that be considered positive developement?

Nevermind cancelling friendlies. We'll be lucky to fulfil the Burnley tie at this rate.

Just give us a couple of loanees from Guiseley Town or something along those lines please and we will all be delighted.

He wasn't used last season. His pace is not great. May is obviously our managers first choice. Cosgrove is seen as the "something different" option.

Positive development is freeing up the wage for someone else.

That's how football works. In's and outs.

Mulumbu is the perfect example of why I donated to DNA, pushing the boat out a bit more than we normally would to land a player that would make a real difference to the first team. If he ends up in England on £10K a week then fair enough but I will be really pi**ed if he ends up at another non celtic/sevco Scottish team on wages that we could have beaten
