As Ket says, welcome to the club. Make sure you get senior rates at the games now and travel there using your bus pass!

Congrats 53 and hope health continues to improve.

I’m only 8 and a bit years away from joining you.

I remember my dad telling me I’d be old before I knew it and that inside my head I’d still be 17.

    He wasn’t wrong.

Enjoy it 53. I got there in May of this year but stopped working at 63 as I could not stand the job I was in any longer. We lived off the wife's state pension and savings I had accrued whilst working and although I hated seeing that hard earned money going out each month it was still one of the best decision I made. Things I hated like gardening etc I really enjoy them now as I have time to do it without feeling its a battle against the clock. And now with the state pension coming in coupled with my works pension it feels like I'm being paid to stay at home. It's a great feeling.

Enjoy it 53, I was made redundant at 61 in 2003, have loved every minute of my retirement, I can do what I want when it I want, or when the missus tells me to

I have to wait until I am 66 to get my state pension. Pushing it up to 67 not long after. Not sure how I will adopt to not working. I get pretty bored at home when there are no jobs to do and my wife doesn't like going out much bar to the cinema and theatre oh and bloody shops.
