No reason why you would be, of course. A fine school though. I remember old Edwards the headmaster, Pettigrew, Whittaker and Smallpiece. Had some great times in the company of Bob Cherry, Harry Wharton, Horace Coker and Vernon-Smith. Happy days indeed.

The FA Cup ties that have just been played were the "Extra Preliminary Round", the real "Preliminary Round" is on 25th August. Parkgate and Maltby have to get through another seven rounds to get in the draw with us - so unlikely!
Stocksbridge are at home to Bamber Bridge in the Preliminary Round, Maltyby are away, couldn't spot Parkgate on the list.

Rawmarsh Welfare reached the 1st round proper in 1952, eventually losing at home to Buxton 1-4, does anybody know of any other local teams(non-league) who have equaled or bettered that.?

Didn't know that. Just checked Rawmarsh Welfare FC - the club was "dissolved" in 1982.
Can't think of any others in Rotherham - Parkgate and Maltby have never even reached the 4th Qualifying round.

My now home town team Worksop drew 0-0 against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, I don't think the Miilers have ever matched that.

Parkgate play Brighouse Town away in next round (25th Aug) they are in Northern Premier League (same league as Frickley Athletic) so I think this will be a tough game.

Well spotted, Archie, but only half right. The first four names were from that homage to public school homoerotica, Whacko! with Jimmy Edwards. You also lose a point for the Monty is Kempo nonsense. Clearly none of you lads are aware of the history of this site. But it keeps Mike happy I suppose. he conveniently forgets that it was I who first posted the list of names he now puts up with boring regularity. If he's so sure Kempo is Monty is Wendun is Unwed2 is Dr Pokem perhaps he might refer us to a single post made by Unwed2 for instance that confirms his belief?
