Well what a complete load of rubbish. We were played off the park by a Watford team who had the intent to win the game, unlike BFC who had no intent at all. The result of playing 1 upfront allowed Watford to go four upfront and our back line just could not cope, We were sliced open numerous times. Then to add insult to injury we substituted Wood for Barnes and Taylor for Ward as we remained 1 upfront and only in the last 15 mins did we switched to two upfront by which time the game was long gone. Talk about negativity that is all we brought to the table today. In addition SD showed his loyalty to Lennon who had no influence in the game whatsoever and only made passes backward. The team had no get up and go, second to the ball no snap in the tackle. If this is the standard we are going to witness at home for this season it will be a long boring season. I fear for our position in the Premier. It wont take very long for the knives to be out as a result of a lack of investment in the squad. The whole team was absolutely woeful. After saying all that I will still be on the Turf every game come what may.

Cant agree more Lancaster. We were woeful in every department but we have been now since April. The last 5 games of the previous season showed the squad needed investment.

CIB completely agree but it is difficult to know who is to blame for the lack of recruitment is it the board or is it SD or is it the poor scouting system? I would be good to know!

I'd put some blame on Dyche who seems to crave a "Dyche style Player", someone who "Will not disrupt the dressing room" and looking for PL experienced players rather than looking farther afield.

Recruitment team and scouting seem Amateurish at best.

Garlick needs to spend more brass than he is willing to do.

Calls for Matt to get a ban for standing on Success’s hand .

    LT
    Joe Hart 6
Strong one-handed save from Deeney in the first half. Little he could do with the goals

    Matt Lowton 5
Terrible mistake for Watford’s third goal, gifting possession to Will Hughes in a dangerous area. A real mixed bag with his crossing.

    James Tarkowski 6
Headed in his first goal for the club. Had a real battle with Deeney and Gray and found it tough going

    Ben Mee 5
Strong in the air against Deeney, but saw the striker creep past him for Watford’s second goal

    Stephen Ward 6
Slid a fine ball through to create a chance for Hendrick, but exposed by Watford’s counter attack

    Johann Berg Gudmundsson 6
Tested Foster with a 25-yard free-kick. Linked up well with Ward and drifted infield to create space for the overlap

Jack Cork 7 (Man of the Match)
Freshest man in the middle for Burnley having come off the bench on Thursday night and he impressed in the first half as the Clarets piled forward. Was the driving force for that good spell of pressure and had a shot blocked.

    Ashley Westwood 6
Worked hard to track Hughes and Doucoure and battled well, but showed signs of tiredness

    Aaron Lennon 5
Got plenty of joy from Holebas, often latching on to passes in behind him, but couldn’t find the final ball

    Jeff Hendrick 7
Words of encouragement from Sean Dyche on Thursday night and responded with an improved performance

    Chris Wood 5
Looks better with a partner next to him and struggled to impose himself on the game

    Subs
    Ashley Barnes for Wood (65)
    Sam Vokes for Hendrick (70)
    Charlie Taylor for Ward (74)

Its not just the one game though is it BT, we got beat by a team on a similar par to us, its not the defeat that hurts, its the manner of how we lost, and there has been a few not as bad as this afternoons but still dire performances.

Take a look at the subs BT, 3 defenders and 2 attacking players, NO creative player or winger, we are 3-1 down and Dyche takes off a forward to replace with another, WTF was that all about ? So we could carry on with hoofing it upfield for a big man ?

We buy a £5 Million man in Wells who cannot even get in the team and now not even a Championship side want him, and yet we don't want to pay an extra £2 Million for JayRod, it just does not add up to me and sounds very shoddy and stupid.

Even with your super (not my thoughts) Brady back and the elusive D4, we are still short of depth, add to that weak links already in the first 11 and it just doesn't smell of danger, it looks odds on we will get a very bad back lash.

I think you are bang on with that assessment Alto.I was going to mention in my previous post - if you add up all the pointless signings like Nakhi Wells then we could easily have afforded better players. This shambles of a recruitment system is coming back to bite us this season.Nobody wants the club to bet the house on players but a little more ambition would be welcome.A lot of the teams around us have strengthened and we if anything seem a worse team than last season.
