Thread: Ihiekwe loaned out

  1. #11
He showed how good he could be at Wigan, but his head went for whatever reason in the playoffs. Don't see how sticking him in the side now would help his confidence, could destroy it for good. Him getting game time lower down will help him if he's going to be any good.
May become better than Wood but not ATM, you only have to compare their playoff performances.

MillerBill, do you know something we don't cos I can't come to your conclusion based on the content of this thread or any other 'evidence' that has been posted on here for the past few weeks.

I hope you're right, although I would prefer us to get a holding midfielder and a battling midfielder.
The first one needs to be a 'steady eddy' type holding midfielder to calm things down when we win possession instead of launching the ball up field in hope rather than anticipation. Someone like Potter.

The second needs to be a battler like Danny Murphy.

As much as some people slagged off Richie Smallwood, we haven't replace him.

Let's hope that is the case, another wage or part wage freed up till January.

Hopefully Accrington manager can get the best out of Ihiekwe and he comes back a better player,

Good Luck to the lad at Ackers.

Quote from Paul Warne in today's Advertiser: "If I could get two or three in and if it was agreeable I will. Fundamentally we are always trying to improve the squad and you have to take all the opportunities you can because it is a long time until the next window in January
At the moment we have a 21 man squad including 3 goalkeepers. With injuries and suspensions you haven't much room there to breathe in so we could do with another couple.
I don't want to get ones in who will just be squad players, I need ones that can come in and play.
I still think we need strengthening in the middle of the park but if we can get some electric pace either out wide or up top, just to give us something else, it would help us.
With our attackers, Jamie Proctor, Michael Smith and Kyle Vassell all have a physical presence and David Ball is a good ball player."

Make of that what you will but no mention of loans from the Premier League.

Good luck to him, he just made too many mistakes and never took it on board, Div 1 at best.

PW has said he won't bring anyone in who doesn't improve the squad ,but plays a Div 1 defence, except for a loanee, who's not good enough........but probably a good human being...lol

I’ve always liked Warney, didn’t want him to be manager but he’s done a decent job I admit but I’ve had to stop listening to him on I follow, might be me but his face tells a different story to what he’s saying, now I just read what he says.

I’d much prefer to listen to Barker and which he’d do most of interviews.
Barker says it’s like one step forward and four steps back with the Towell saga .

Hopefully we get at least one in next week before deadline

just because people watch a game it doesn't mean theyknow they know what there talking about.

    You can say that again!

Have to say a great signing for them. He had a wobble in the playoffs which was out of character for someone who'd shown captaincy qualities at the back for most of the season.
I hope he still has a future here and hope he does well for Stanley.
