Stonewall? No it wasn't.
Lets be honest here, Newcastle didn't have one shot on target until they scored. they were piss poor. However, they are the Prem team so what is the excuse?
Romanis makes it sound like we salvaged it?
Considering the changes, they played much better, and 3-1 didn't flatter us.
However, we still haven't hit top gear yet and I don't believe we will, until October.

Brereton.
Had the chance to talk this one through with some of the lads now.
In retrospect, it's better he's gone. Both for him and the club. Any player not happy, will rock the boat.
We didn't have to sell, he wasn't willing to fight for his place, so it says more about him than the club. Look at Cash right now. He's flying and is making a starting shirt his own. Yates is going out on loan to Rov Rum and knows he has a future here. This mentality will only do them some good. 95 Champs can say it tongue in cheek as much as he wants. But has Brereton gone to better club with a bigger future? No he hasn't.
£7M may turn out to be a bargain, or the biggest flop going for many years.
His hit rate was 1 in 6. Yes I wanted to see him fulfill his potential here, but he has to significantly improve on that to be a striker.
This was his home club and the pressure has never been on him here. Now it is and we will see what he is made of. BRFC will want a return on that cash asap, 1 goal in 6 won't cut it.
We can't complain, £7M for a player who cost sweet FA.
Karanka is building for the here and now, to wait for Brereton is a luxury we can't afford.
One for 61.
It must grate you a bit old timer, to see us keep turning out talent and sell them on for 100% profit.
Don't forget, there is better than Brereton coming through in Appiah and Gomis.
