That's always a slight on the previous manager. What criteria is he using? He could not have done a fitness test yet in the time he has been there. If so GET THEM FIT.
Kewell says players are not fit...shameful state of affairs at this stage of the season. What the hell have the coaching and fitness staff been doing ?

The fact that Eddie left when he did always seemed an odd one to me, so it’s no surprise that other teams seem sharper and fitter than us. The fact our pre-season games were so uncompetitive didn’t help, either. I’m afraid this is Nolan’s legacy to us.
Well,if your out drinking/socialising with the boss, how can you be fit?
Not disagreeing completely. But it’s an easy target for the new manager and hard to argue against in a losing side where morale is low. It’s always interesting that struggling sides seem to have more injuries.
Quite a few of the players last night have hardly played competitive football this season.
Nolan was to friendly with the players and treated them like his mates. Players should know to expect a roasting if they've not performed on the pitch, they didn't get one from Kev. We'll get it right in training and work harder. They obviously didn't work harder.
... I always wondered who lead pre-season training after Eddie left. It's no secret that top players are not the best for nothing - they train and practice more than the others - it's not all about natural ability; they work at making their gift even better. I wonder who stays behind for extra self improvement at NC.
I think it's a simple matter of improving the players' stamina. If the players were as fit in the second half as they were in first they could have kept the impetus going and at least matched Grim-sby. I don't wish to name fingers or point names but certain midfielder (Clue: Not Frankie, not Norman and not Sarah) our carers have taken in from that home over the river could turn out to be a useful addition if he could last longer than twenty minutes.
I think the fitness levels are low. We have a good 20 minute spurt then get smashed, that says to me our fitness is a shambles. It's going to take a while to get that sorted
