That bitching by Sheffield Council about HS2 being at Meadowhall might still bite them in the bum. There are plans being proposed to build a major development on the unused land next to Meadowhall. Not just retail but wider use. A high speed rail link next to it would be a major asset, not one linked to a run down, on the edge of town station like Sheffield has currently.

Clear indication that massivitis has spread from Sheffield 6 to infect the council.
