Levein should keep his Fife puss shut. If anyone had a go at Hertz he’d be first in line with the defensive comments.
I do think the club should have just ignored the comments though
For a man who I suspect still has a soft spot for our Club, I suspect the ulterior motive for Sir Craig's comments is not so much John Soutar but more directed as to how the Club has been run the last few years.

I'd go along with this. He fought our corner when he was manager and wouldn't imagine he would say for the sake of bitching.
As for the statement while the club needs to defend itself from derogatory comments it should be listening more closely to those from it's own fanbase rather than outsiders.
Anyone who thinks he gives a **** about us now is totally deluding themselves. Hearts man, simple as that.
His comments have soured my opinion a wee bit. Pretty sure his career was in the doldrums when he got a chance at Tanny? He done well for us, nae arguments. Houston won the cup though. Don't think Craig's won any trophies. Saying that he'd be welcomed back compared to the clown we've currently got.
4-6-0 with Scotland is what he'll be remembered for after his disastrous stint as the national coach. He's flavour of the month with the farts fans just now but don't reckon they were all that enamoured with his appointment.
I always backed him on here mind you i backed Barry Douglas as well and got slated for it,i can only wish that one day god will give me the footballing insight of a boo boy.Phuck know's what Levein is on aboot though it was his mate who gave him his debut at RIGHT BACK at Pittodrie
If 'Sir Craig' had any balls, he'd name whoever he has the beef with. To say Utd almost ruined Souttar is absolute *******s. Is it the clubs fault that a player is played out of position?? Is it ****. Its the manager, so whoever he has beef with he should just name & shame. Coward.
Ironically the first manager to play Souttar out of position was his best pal Houstie. I wonder if he realises this.
Agree with you that Levein would have went all out had the shoe been on the other foot.
Perhaps the United board thought "lets try and get everyone to rally around to defend the club's reputation".
Maybe trying to generate a bit of togetherness off the field as on the field ain't helping.
