I draw the line at personal abuse , heckling whilst the players are addressing the ball .

I'm cheering when the yanks dump the ball in the water or miss an easy putt so I can understand spectators on the course will just as likely follow suit .

I actually enjoy needle in sport , enjoyed it when I played , however when the games over then its over and you shake hands and have a beer together .

That's the way I played anyway .
Agreed. I felt the set up at the 1st hole said it all. 7000 is and looks amazing but I cant help but feel it was purely set up for something that doesn't belong in the game. I felt the heckling was out of order on practice swings, in fact embarrassing.

The fans at the Open are renowned for their conduct and knowledge. Many foreign players have commented on this over the years. Certain things have crept in slowly though over the years. Lets not get silly please but like most sports it's very costly to attend, folk pay their money and have their own ideas. Who am i to argue with people who put their money where their mouth is and make the effort?

Darts has gone this way with spectators and its turnover has massively increased in recent years. The line has been crossed imo but the players turn a blind eye and are now millionaires. The game has become very lucrative losing it's traditional values. I think some darts fans go to see walk ons, razzamataz and have a sing song rather than watching the action. Shame and if golf goes this way i probably couldnt watch it anymore
