    Well George I have just this morning spoken to a former employee of Pearsons and the lady confirmed one
    particulsrly huge flood many years did, in fact, come up as far as the Vennel / Irish Street crossroads. You can
    of course ask any auld worthies you may know if they remember the flood mark originally referred to.

    Still think this is too far fetched. Stand at the alleged site today and could you possibly picture that scenario. Draw a horizontal line from your feet across to the river..... no way would that be full of water. I would love to see any photographic evidence or indeed any written evidence of this high water mark.
