I don't disagree with you and I share your frustration. Last night was the earliest I have ever left a football match. I was disgusted with it.
But given the current squad who would you play as the three centrehalves? There is nobody other than sticking Barry in there.
Bartley has now lost the ability to kick the ball with either foot.
Dawson has progressed moderately since his arrival as a Centrehalf years ago.
We do not have a right back at the club.
I could run through the squad but what's the point we all know their diffencencies.
We are stuck with them til January.

I would seriously consider dropping Bartley and putting Brunt or Barry on the left hand side of a back 3. They'll be much better on the ball and offer a bit of experience back there. Which would pave the way for Field to partner Livermore in the middle.

Still not the answer to all of our problems, but maybe might offer us a bit more balance, energy in midfield and better technical players in the position we're having most possession.

You can't play Brunt there. He can barely tackle, has no pace and isn't great in the air. He needs to be left out altogether.

If I had a choice out of Barry, Brunt or Bartley....Bartley would be my last choice to play there.

Hegazi, McCauley Dawson etc are not particularly quick. If you read the game ok, you can do a job at the back. He did okay at left back in the premiership and he'll be better on the ball than Bartley so don't see why not.
