RA Rom doesn't attend matches if he had been to as many Leeds V Derby matches as I have he would know why I think they are scum There is always trouble whether home or away That's why Derbyshire and Yorkshire police class those matches as catergary A and have to double their numbers Derby fans are far from an innocent party in the trouble For Rom to infer i carry a grudge from the 70s is laughable I was not born till 1970

Yes I get it. A few trouble makers. And yes I have been to games many times before in the late 70s and early 80s to know first hand what hooliganism is. I won't even excuse some Forest fans who behaved like thugs, the same accusations that were level at fans from Leeds, Cardiff and Millwall. For sure they're thugs, and yes the behaviour od these violent hooligans deserve all condemnation. These are scum, people who attack children, ordinary folk and even abuse womenfolk.
However to use the word scum on every Leeds fan or the team, is just wrong.
Why is not okay to use racist and homophobic terms in grounds today? There are good reasons why this ban is in place. So if it's not okay to use such terms, it's also not okay to use the word scum to describe a whole class of people. The word scum is something the Nazis used to describe Jews and other minorities.
So easy to be an internet warrior these days. Go tell some Leeds fans in their face they're scum and see what happens.
    Plain pathetic.

Every club has its bad uns but that particular Yorkshire club has had way more than its fair share over the past 50 years both on and off the pitch.

Exactly Andy, deep rooted and not really typical of who we are, in general, and, yes, I too would pull a drowning DYS fan out of the water as she/he is a fellow human being.

I have a female friend on the soul circuit and we bump into each other 3, maybe 4 times a year. She is a fervent DYS fan and she once asked why Derby fans seemed to have this intense dislike for anything and everything DYS. I explained that the style of thuggery for which both the team and the fans are known plus the way they treated Cloughie are the basic reasons behind most folks' feelings. I then went on to explain my 2 little "episodes" with their "followers". Her reaction was that she understood my unAmster-like attitude towards the DYS completely.

I had a similar conversation with a male DYS fan in a pub in Shifnal 2 years ago. He too understood my feelings. We did not come to blows or shout at each other. If we meet again we will buy each other a beer.

Twice a year, thrice if there's a Cup game, we hate Nottingham Forest, we hate Forest too, we hate Nottingham Forest and Forest we hate you. That does not mean you personally Rom so please don't take it that way.

So, to answer Rom's point, the feelings are aimed way more at the institution that is DYS, rather than any individual

Ooooo wow, coming from someone who asks me to get a life but spends his time pouring through past posts. hahahaha.
Any insult from someone who calls others inferior class of human beings, I'll take as a compliment.
You've demonstrated the kind of person you are from your posts.

Oh yes, you're a genius in the mould of Trump.

And yes, I can confirm I am a big fan of Marcelo Bielsa.
