On this subject, I suggest you watch the superb goal for Chris O Grady, ex Barnsley player. Solo effort for Oldham.
    21 goals in 59 appearances......

    A Hammill 160 games 20 Goals.

Just a player who scored two goals at Wembley. Did well, and loved the club. Granted.
But not such a God that we have to be reminded every time he scores a chuffing goal in a League which half the pub teams in Barnsley would finish top half!

Not sure where you get your stats from, however I would not disagree with you regarding O Grady a good solid journeyman
There is just one difference between him & Hammill
I think you will struggle to bring to mind O Grady's goals but we will all remember Hammils goals against Leeds Millwall Oxford & others as being nothing short of World class
His latest efforts for St Mirren are in the same bracket & nowt to do with which league they are in
Hourihane scores many of his goals in spectacular fashion which like Hammills' are etched on our memories
These are the sort of goals which memories are made of
We had no chance of keeping Hourihane but due to our ridiculous U 23 only mantra we let Hammill go
I will continue to beat the Hammill drum so please accept my apologies in advance

I didn’t like watching O Grady. Spent more time out wide or his back to goal

For me Hammill was up there with our top ever players on his day and he played a key part in one of the clubs best ever seasons being the catalyst for the turn around that season .

I think if he scores an astounding goal and so many fans think he should still be here with a role to play then why not comment on his form .

Agree with the memories, but that’s what they are now, It won’t ever happen, he comes back as a player again. he’s on the wave behind. We do however need to find a player of his younger calibre amd skill
