I can cut the slack with players, a couple of games in, trying to become accustomed to a new managers style of play. But the basic errors and the lack of leadership and control across the back is ridiculous. IF we come off second best through repeated errors those responsible deserve all they get. Difficult one to predict with both clubs having new managers. I had a matched £20 free bet offer and stuck the £20 real money bet on Grimsby and the £20 free bet offer on Macclesfield. Unfortunately I'm already in profit, but I really hope I lose the freebie bit. I think it's a game between two poor sides and will come down to which team wants it most, which on recent evidence puts us at a disadvantage.

The thumping at Cleethorpes last week came as a bit of a shock to me in a season full of them. As most of the current players are going to have to play a part in determining whether we survive in this league or not it is critical that we get something from today's game. Maybe I am being delusional but I still believe that there must be two poorer teams in this league and victory, however scrappy, will buy some breathing space from one such team and maybe give the players some confidence to build on and secure our league status. Hopefully the spirit shown against Tranmere will be on display and not that v Grimsby.

My daughters up from Plymouth so will be attending as is usually her want when she visits. She’s also got her Man U supporting partner in tow. Add to that we are also taking my nephew and his dad to the game, both florist fans there is the potential for some serious pi55 taking at my expense later as we have our annual family Xmas party at ours afterwards as well.

Based on this I’m fully expecting to get beat and for us to be bottom of the pile by 5pm.

Dreadful game, “all Notts aren’t we” ringing out from the Kop and Macc scoring a 95th minute winner for 1-0. Cue Sol Campbell giving it limbs in front of the Pavis and pyro dogs being deployed to contain the rioting 4,567 Notts fans still in their seats.
