In addition the claim on the DFCSS website (as a at 10.20am CET today) that "The Society played a pivotal role in harnessing support to again save the Club from liquidation in season 2010/11. Having set a fundraising target of £250,000 the money raised by supporters exceeded this figure, as a result, the Club survived and the Society took control of a majority shareholding" is at best misleading and in my opinion simply false. I'll be clear once again as I've said it publicly before, DFCSS did not save the Club in Admin 2 - the 3 major players in that were Brian Jackson, the Colvins and Bob Barclay. There were others of course but these 3 players were the most significant.
Thanks hmac. As a member of DFCSS I'm not sure what to do with the news that the society is in discussion with the club about the safeguarded rights that the society has via ownership of their A shares. There's plenty of discussion about this development on TDB or Pravda as it is known more commonly here. Just wondered if there were any views from those who post on here. The society wants to consult, and fans forums are ideal for this purpose.

The main areas were not being able to move from Dens Park, not being able to amalgamate and appoint 2 directors, not being able to borrow more than £50k, not change the name or the club colours.

It's only my opinion so take it or leave it but on the above i'd say it's crucial that we are able to move from Dens Park, amalgamation should never be on the agenda and must be fought on all fronts, couldn't care less if DFCSS has any directors, the borrowing limit is unrealistic, agree we are Dundee FC in dark blue and white.

I'm not a member of DFCSS though pretty sure they won't give a **** for my opinion :-)

I think I made it clear in my post that FPS hired Hartley and that cost was down to them, however, I also said the average loss at Dens was 300k which then jumped to 800k. Doubt Hartley cost 500k from Alloa. Also FPS are going to let DFCSS get involved in some community trust if they agree to sell the shares, surely they can get more than that, maybe get the club to take them seriously for once.

posting my recollections from the time, as an outsider, since DFCSS were a closed shop and treated the fans with nothing but contempt.

but they aren't doing that now. We should be pleased that they have brought this matter to light and given the supporters an insight into what FPS are trying to achieve. The restrictions in the "sale" agreement to FPS were there for good reasons.

What are FPS trying to achieve, i've not read that anywhere?

On another slant.....what if FPS say ok no problem guys we walk away as we can't get anything done, here's our shares. What will DFCSS do then?
