It took some doing to miss a 3.00 kick off.

Pretty much sums it up for me. I'm not one to sing Milne's praises as I've found much of his tenure to be pretty dire football-wise. I also rue the demise of Pittodrie & dislike the idea of moving out of town but when you look at some of his peers in Scottish Football over the years and the state some of the other larger Scottish clubs have got into, well, it's something to be pleased about that we've neither been relegated nor gone into admin. I'm not saying this is a great achievement nor am I attributing it all to Milne but as Rico says, staying solvent and in the top league should be a minimum and most Scottish fans would agree but it's only us & the Tims who've managed to do so.
Again this is not aimed at anyone in particular but it’s odd if you are saying that what McInnes has done isn’t good enough and at the same time say that Milnes done a good job because he has never let us get relegated.
If we are ever going to be what a lot of people on here want us to be then Stewarty will have to step aside.
Sneckers......seriously, do not go down the sweetie wifie route!.....the loon like many others before him and 100% will after him, has/had issues......FFS........some of the best players/managers that I’ve had the good fortune to be pals with have enjoyed a tipple or two......thankfully they did not progress to glue like I’ve been accused of?......anyway, I passed on your dads regards this afternoon......one dozen of Glasgow’s finest rolls found a home with some of your dads mates when I got back up the road.

But the problem with the manager not turning up because he was pished is that he loses all authority. How can he discipline the players or lead by example?
McGhee's comment that he was waiting for the Celtic job would have lost his respect and goodwill from the fans but not necessarily the players. Although losing the respect and goodwill from fans is usually just as fatal for the manager's job as a manager breeching acceptable codes of conduct.
Paterson should've been sacked on the Monday just as McGhee should've walked on the Monday after the 0-9, as much as for his "only three points" comment as anything else.
Milne's reign will always be marked by these two misjudgements. And then of course the debt he accumulated and the need for Willie and Elaine Donald to bail the club out of an ever decreasing circle...
None of our other chairmen got the club relegated, so I don't see why Milne should get any credit for that.
Patterson, Calderwood, McGhee, & McInnes all benefitted from Milne being a bungling @rsehole. All provided him with a golden opportunity to get the sack & he missed it.
