Far fetched maybe but picture this:

May flecks about and makes a total mess of it.
Invites cross party collaboration
Parties don’t work together
Proposal can’t get through Parliament
May retracts article 50 and blames Corbyn etc for refusing to work together meaning an agreeable deal can’t be reached.
