Can’t see Stoke going for McKenna, they just signed a defender from Wolves for £3 million and they already have Shawcross,Williams and Martins Indi so I doubt they will pay £5 million for a defender who has never played in the championship.
We should hold out for £7 mill but i would say that would be the maxiimum. £6 with a 20% sell on fee would not be bad. The defender Bournemouth signed has a good bit of Championship experience and is a Welsh international who came through Chelseas academy, not saying he is better than Mckenna but the English will see it that way.
In addition, we should add clauses saying we get an extra £2m if Stoke get promoted whilst McKenna is still there (£2m will be peanuts considered the money they will get if they get promoted); an extra £2m when he reaches 20 caps; extra £2m if they win the FA Cup , etc etc
Scott McKenna isn’t getting sold. No huge bids for our injured centre back. £5m is not big money from Stoke. We should be keeping him anyway as he is the best central defender in this country.
2 loan signings this window sums up our intentions for the rest of the season as it ultimately means only Greg Stewart is different from what we already had this season. Well done Derek McInnes and Stewart Milne for making the league that wee bit easier for Celtic. Go Derek McInnes
