Not during his first season Tony no. Fergie was appointed in 1986 and was reputed to be on the verge of the sack during the 1989-1990 season, they went onto win the FA Cup that season though which acted as his stay of execution. They won the title in '93 and the rest is history.

I think Fergie was saved in his fourth season by a Mark Robins goal in the fa cup which they went on to win, but I don't believe we should wait 4 years for promotion under DM.

When he was appointed, I was worried as I wanted a manager with at least 2 promotions, but said I would back DM and wished him the best and he's done better than I thought.

I don't subscribe to him being thick, but being new to management, he's going to make mistakes and he gets battered if he doesn't make subs or if he does.

If we don't go up then we can rethink it.

This is how I see it BB and while I understand it's all about opinions, some of the things I see posted about him both here and on other sites are down right bloody insulting. I posted my thoughts on the job he's done thus far not long back so won't bother repeating myself. I acknowledge we need to strive for greater consistency but most of the points we've dropped recently have been down to individual mistakes. I'll be interested to see how he incorporates our new signings. COYB .

Moore comes over and I believe he is a genuinely nice guy, however if i kept on making the same mistakes over and over I would be out on my ear.

I believe that he has the support of the squad and sense a keenness from the players to respond.
I have been critical from the start, and posted accordingly, as to his inexperience with regards to substitutions. This has undoubtedly caused us to lose points. However, it is something that will be learned and I am happy to maintain my support for him.
At worst, I expect us to be in the play-offs.
