Bolton winding up petition moves closer

    From BBC Football website today

Bolton Wanderers are set to be issued with a winding-up petition by HM Revenue & Customs.

BBC Radio Manchester reports that a petition by HMRC was filed on 4 February, although no date for a hearing has been made available.

The Championship club has been asked for comment.

Bolton owner Ken Anderson said on Monday that he was in "detailed discussions" with an interested party about the sale of the club.

Last month, Anderson said he was "doing his utmost" to find a buyer amid fan protests.

    Wow!

After Anderson slagged off the owner of Forest Green and made it public that all debts would be paid once the TV money came in.
Someone will bail them out or will they do the same as buyers have done to RUFC? Will they let the club go into administration before buying them thus clearing the clubs debt?

Wouldn't wish it on anyone (well possibly Wednesday)
God knows we've been close enough but there comes a point when it will happen (see earlier thread on club debts) and it could start a domino effect

As usual, nothing will happen and Bolton will sail serenely on with no detrimental effects. The football authorities will see to that.

Operating on a loss massive debt but the EFL ignore it . Meanwhile we play by the rules and get shafted by clubs in massive debt because they add to the debt buying more players.Wigan as a example . I purpose a new rule if you owe the banks more that 10 million you cannot buy any players till that debt is reduced . Imagine what that would do to football, soon level it up a bit.

Does it help being one of the Football League's founding clubs?

I don't know about Bolton but this whole FFP stuff is winding me up. I know US 'franchising' gets a bad rap but I like the way they have salary caps which lead to a cycle of success rather than 4-5 teams dominating the sports.

Please don’t be taken in by a winding up order, it’s nothing more than a push and threat Very few materialise.
