Excellent stuff 9goals, well done chap.

In reference to Stripes39 kettlebells are an excellent bit of kit.

Sorry to read of your head injury and I hope things have settled down for you.

    Take care .

Thanks 68. I'm fine now and trust your likewise. Yes, it just shows how events can happen when you least expect them. I was at home and my house is quite old with a very steep set of stairs. I missed my footing on the very top step whilst carrying something and fell backwards all the way down. I hit a Marley stone floor which I have before hitting my head on a radiator. Problem was the temperature control valve on the rad which normally has a plastic cover didn't and I took the full impact with the brass spike going through my skull. Had my partner not have been in it may well have been a different story as I was out cold. I said to the surgeon I was unlucky. He said, No, you were very lucky. It was an inch or so either side of finishing me off, very close to a spot on the head which killed that Aussie Test cricketer some while ago. I'm over it now and after a few months of good intention I'm biting the bullet and getting fit again. Kettlebells really are a good way to get fit as they work on several levels. Would recommend buying a set to anyone who struggles to get to the gym after a long working day. Onwards and upwards!

Nasty. I've had a couple of scrapes with the 'other side' myself. Still ducking and diving but a few things are catching up with me now and old man scythe gets us all eventually. Currently nursing a knee injury, crikey I sound like an old mon and I've only just turned 51 .

I don't have KBs myself but I've incorporated a few exercises into my routines using dumbells (swings etc). A lot of KB and dumbell exercises interchange very well so all's good. I've also taken delivery of some XL parallettes for body weight exercise and resistance bands as well to compliment the weights and punch bag.

Despite the injury my knee flexion and extension are fine, so until recently I was averaging about 45 mins a day on my rowing machine. It's a little bit broken at the moment though so I may invest in another one in the not too distant future as my cycling days are well and truly behind me now.

Lack of exercise has never been an issue for me, that's where the 'falling down juice' comes in unfortunately. Self medication is a poor substitute for self relaxation. Anyhow, I'm cutting down now and I'll get there eventually.

    Anyway, stay safe fella .

Well done 123 and others who have beaten or have controlled their Diabetes, my father in law had it and it was terrible.

Stripes that is some unfortunate accident, great to hear you have recovered fully, although I'm sure the Albion under Pardew didn't help in your recovery.

We really are lucky to have the NHS, and if you needed a blood transfusion you may have some baggieblood in you (unfortunately), as I gave my 25th pint last week.
