There is a distinct difference with how we play first half away from home to the second half.
We’re set up not to lose.
Nothing wrong with that but some games we could have won if we pushed forward more.
Going forward doesn’t have to mean gun ho and leaving ourselves wide open.
The paying fans away from home deserve the team to try and pick up wins not just draws.
Loads of times this season we hoof it forward to smith on his own. How is that not negative?
It’s coming straight back with us under pressure which in fact stops us attacking.

Also maybe if the manager didn’t talk up every team we play as world beaters that may change our mindset.
I’m in the opinion we have the right manager but don’t piss on the fans and tell us it’s raining.
We’re a long ball team who aim not to lose away from home.
Let’s hope it works come the end of the season.
It’s no coincidence our away record is shocking the manager has to take some responsibility for that.

We get the balls down the wings and cross it in mostly to Smith who is the one often crossing the ball in.

We use the throw ins because they more accurate than our corners whatch on the whole and like most other teams in the world are shyte!

It is surprising how few goals are scored from corners and long throws and that's because they are easy to set up for and are worked on in training.

It is a percentace game! The more you cross the more chance you have. It's exciting for the team that does it but a worry to those that have to defend! We worry teams and they don't like it!

Last season Barnsley went down with 9 wins.

Can you see us getting 9 wins or more?

Looks as though they got 41 points which I agree probably won't be enough.

But It depends on how many wins and draws the three teams at the bottom get this season not what Barnsley did last season

We,ve already amassed one more draw than BFC did all season with 12 games or so still to go.

Players are back so more options but Warne will still start with his negative formation guaranteed

Gomes said that we were a team that play direct football as a statement of fact not as a criticism or a complaint. He also didn't say we only know how to play direct football or that we're incapable of playing it any other way. I believe it was said mainly as a criticism of his own team in that they didn't adapt sufficiently to counter our style

As such I think Paul Warne is being unnecessarily sensitive. He can be forgiven for that since he is under immense pressure from all sides, and he is usually pretty calm and rational - I just think he got this one wrong.

I think some of their Manager,s comments are deflection tactics to mask his own deficiencies.
He,s been backed with resources to fight his relegation battle but they haven't pulled away yet and don't look like doing so on that performance. Blame the result on a big bad team from up North that stopped his tippy tappers playing. They said beforehand that they intended to pass it around us but they weren't able to do that
    Excuses excuses

It's not RUFC,s job to entertain him or Reading supporters

    This.
When happy clappers like Pocket are saying we can be negative and we’re long ball then there must be substance behind it.
We’re capable of some good attacking football and we have done at times take Ajayi goal against Leeds.
Warne has been brilliant at times but has also been the root cause of playing with too much caution imo.
I’ve only missed 1 away and some games leave you thinking if we had played all the game like the last 20 minutes we would have picked up more points.

a bit generous estimate there m8. i would half that amount

At home we have targeted the games against the mediocre sides and played more positively and it has yielded fruit on occasion.
wins vs derby, ipswich swansea preston and millwall... im not sure warne targeted these games as millwall was the only game we dominated.
Burton Albion survived their first season at this level with a lower budget than we have now and they did so by showing no respect to their bigger opponents and picking up wins when not expected as well as a few beatings.
were not down yet m8. coooomon be more positive
