FA cup final. Who's ever been to one.

I went to the 1967 Spurs v Chelsea final. I was eleven. No idea how we came to get tickets, and the Wimbledon v Liverpool one. My brother got those, being involved with the Worcestershire F.A.
Couldn't get any for the 68 final though went to the semi.
Did all the Albion F.A. cup games the following season to make sure we got some for the final. Lost at Hillsborough. Ossie let a poor goal in.

In the Sixties it seemed we were always involved in Cup Finals or good cup runs. 1969 Semi Final Leicester

Never thought that when I left Wembley after that League Cup defeat in 1970 that it would be the last time I saw Albion in a Cup Final of any importance.

Saw most of the games in 1968 and was very very nervous before the final. After we brilliantly beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge the next year I felt very confident that we would win it again. But they always let us down don't they? Up the Baggies!

Yep, all of the above. Plus 1966 England v Germany. Apparently I nearly went to the 1954 final as well, but my mum refused to let my dad take a 2-year-old infant, though he thought it would have been good for me.

Just catching up on some old threads.

Never seen a Fa cup final as I refuse to see that or a league cup final because I still foolishly think I will see them with the Albion, having been born in 1972.

I however have had the fortune to see%

1) 2006 Zidane chestbutt world cup final.
2) 1996 European championship final (it should have been England).
3) 1992 European cup final, Barcelona beat Sampdoria to win their first one.
4) The last cup winners cup final lazio vs real mallorca which was played at vile Park.
5) And the best of all WBA 3 Vale 0 at Wembley.

I wished I'd made more of an effort to go and watch the river plate vs boca juniors copa liberwhateverthespellingis in Madrid late last year after it was moved there after crowd trouble.

Hopefully, on 5/4/19 I'll get an email that my application for this season's European cup final at atletico's new ground has been successful (I doubt it will be though), as it would be first ground abroad where I've to a club's old and new ground.
