regiional news up ere saying the floodlights at blundell park are to be replaced season ending.
the lights were bought from wolves in 1959 and will probably be donated to local community pitches.

I remember those floodlights, they were so tall you could see them for miles as you approached the stadium. I would not have enjoyed climbing up the ladder to adjust, or replace the lamps. When you see the quality of the current lamps you realise how poor the old ones used to be. They served their purpose at the time, and witnessed some tremendous games.
