You know I've always wondered how some of these agreements and rules within football would actually stand up in court , Jean Marc Bosman challenged the status quo and look what happened .
Take the transfer windows for instance , now to me that is a restrictive work practice and challenges your right to move from one employer to another except when the football governing bodies allow you to , twice a year and looking to be only once a year at some point down the road .
I take the point there should always be a transfer deadline which was normally around the end of March for obvious footballing reasons .
The only reason that I can come to regarding transfer windows is for easier administration issues at governing bodies such as the football league .
A player who falls out with his head coach in September can't get away until 5 months later in January .
Nar that's a restrictive work practice and is open to challenge in my opinion .
