I don't think Lewis Ferguson will be captain.
If you'd asked me a few months ago, I'd have said Mikey Devlin, but f**k knows what's happened to him since his injury in November.
So I think it will be Joe Lewis.

Agree with you on Devlin - I thought he was a certainty to be the next captain but he's been all over the place since he returned from injury. I'd always prefer to have an outfield captain rather than the keeper - there's not many candidates really. Ferguson is the most captain like in terms of his attitude - he would fight our corner with refs as Shinnie does and would lead by example in not being intimidated by any opposition. Might be a bit much to put on the young guy though I guess.

Also, whoever mentioned Shinnie to Hearts must be mad... I can't for the life of me think why he would sign for them. Derby sounds like a no go either - if they're looking to get promoted to the EPL they'll need better than Shinnie - I don't think he has the attributes to play at a higher level than where he's at presently.

No, we have two recent examples.
Logan who was going back to England to be with his family, Brentford amongst others was touted IIRC. He didn’t leave and re-signed in July.
Possibly wee Sam was a major influencer, but he didn’t leave.

McLean was signed on a pre-contract to the Huns, even before the window for many on here. Yes he left, but not to them.

I think Shinnie is possibly 90% certain to leave, probably to Luton, Sunderland or maybe even Derby (if their not promoted) as some suggest today, but I don’t believe it’s a done deal yet, so not absolute certain he’s leaving.

By all accounts it sounds like the club have made him an offer that we cannot top, so I believe the club have done everything they can.
It’s up to the player and we’ll see where he ends up in the summer when all the clubs interested know their budget.
