26 games and 56 points taken since 1st o Dec. That equates to an average of 2.15 points per game. Also only 18 goals conceded in those last 26 games at an average of 0.69 goals conceded per game. Tremendous effort by all concerned and the kind of season I never thought I'd ever see us have.
At start of season I had a look at foreign managers promotion record over the last decade in this division and it made for bleak reading. Only one foreign manager gained promotion out of this league in last 10 years.
Herr Stendel has come in and totally blown this theory out of the water. He's lost key players along the way too in Potts and Bradshaw, had his fair share of injuries, lost his assistant half way through the season, lived here away from his wife and kids and ed his teeth knocked art! Adversity and test of resolve? The guy is made of bloody tungsten.
We have laiked some good stuff this season and scored some lovely team goals which I personally like to see. I'm so impressed by Stendels impact. Rewind 12 months and we were all feeling miserable, the club was at a low ebb following the relegation. Stendel has come in with a proper game plan, lifted the confidence of the players, lifted the club and we've surged to automatic promotion. Tremendous effort considering he could barely speak the lingo when he arrived and the setbacks he's had to overcome during the campaign. Improved contract should be on Hoss' desk next week
