I’ve got no problem in getting rid of McInnes but I’m realistic enough to know it won’t take us to the next level and the football will still be boring to watch.
I think Rico, what 99% of people are saying (me certainly) like you suggest in your last paragraph is that DM has done a good job but has taken us as far as he can.

If we have ambition to go further, we need a new manager in the Clarke mould who can make the best of limited resources. DM has done that as far as he’s capable but he’s hit the proverbial glass ceiling.

Yes, it might go tits up & leave us worse off, but I’m happy to take the punt & give it a try cause I’m bored rigid.

The big elephant in the room issue is of course that the Alford neep chooses the next guy & that gives me the fear same as any other sane dandy...

Not really, I would be happy to have Clarke as our manager but I don’t think he will take us any further as you put it.

It’s not just McInnes who has hit a glass ceiling it’s us as a club and the only way we are going to get any better is with major investment in the squad.

The way things are going with the club focusing on the new stadium we will only get worse, you could argue that Clarke would be better suited to us if our budget is going to decrease but he is never going to take us further than McInnes has.

    Bang on as always Moog.

Only way we are going to get better is by changing out the chairman, not the manager (and I am certainly not a fan of McInnes).

Changing both is what we really need. But I will make do with one at a time for the moment because both of them make the club boring as f’uck and that needs to change to move forward.

    Agreed.
Thing is, changing Milne might then see a change in the way we operate, so would be willing to try a tiny bit longer with McInnes if Milne moved out.
Ideally though, I would also change both in one swoop.

The problem being no one in Aberdeen has the balls to get rid of either so it will have to come from someone out with the area. No one is interested in taking over from Milne as he has sucked the life out the club and McInnes has sucked what entertainment value was left. We are boring as f’uck because of them with no one wanting real change wanting to come in. They both need hounded out.

We have been changing managers for the last 20 years and it hasn’t made much difference.

Ideally we need to get rid of Milne first and then replace McInnes because changing managers under Milne will result in the same old same old.

I agree that we need rid of Milne first but that probably is very unlikely. I would still take the opportunity in chopping McInnes though as he honestly is spent. Both are not doing us much good at all so anyone of them that makes way the better.

McInnes will definitely be gone before Milne is but the boring football will still be here long after McInnes has left.

Unless we sign a positive thinking manager. Doesn’t have to be an SFA coached individual. The world is big.
