We need both, but considering Mattock in Warne's eyes has to be knocking Mattock out of the team. I'm sure Purrington would be thinking "time to move on"

That is if Mattock signs. I don't know if we have a years option as with other players. If he doesn't sign we'll be ok with Purrington or we'll be quids in because if Charlton go up and they sign him perminantly then we'll have loads of undesclosed to spend.

Ben has had a good season, especially the second half with Charlton.
He looked assured at left-back today. ( Donny v Charlton )
It will be up to Ben when / if he goes pre-season.

I’d like them both too, but I’m guessing neither would like to play second fiddle so if it’s take your pick, I’ll pick Mattock.

They're both good left backs for this division but Purrington being only 22 years old becomes more valuable than a player in his late 20s who has reached his potential, so for that reason I would rather us try and sign Purrington to a long contract and give him the opportunity.

Just how do you pronounce his name?

I don't think Warne expects Purrington to return and is trying to increases Purrington's transfer fee by saying we still want him.

I always had a feeling that Purrington did not fit in with the squad.

Also if Charlton offered to buy him, why on earth would he leave them.?They are a bigger club than us and will have a better chance of prospering in the championship when they eventually get there.
