Slightly surprised by our decision to bat, and the pitch definitely helped the Kent bowlers, but nothing excessive, and the ball wasn't flying around the batsmen's heads. The Yorkshire batsmen didn't help themselves with a couple of run outs and some careless shots. With the wicket drying out, Kent then got on top - young Zak Crawley looks like a great find for them and looked set for a ton but Patterson got his wicket early on Day Two. Kent keeper Robinson was defiant though and made 103, giving Kent a first innings lead of 86. Day Three belonged to Yorkshire though with a score of 469 - Ballance a 6-hour 159 and Leaning getting 69. Coa and Olivier ripped into the Kent batmen in the final few overs of the day leaving Kenton 34-3, still about 350 behind. Great comeback by Yorkshire! If you have been watching on tv, don't be fooled by the sunny picture - there has been an icy breeze blowing across the ground for most of the game - very deceptive! Hopefully no rain interuptions tomorrow and Yorkshire can successfully finish the job
