It’s as clear as it ever was that the country is as divided now as it was at the time of the referendum. If we, on this board, could come up with a solution we’d be the toast of the country, but we can’t. The situation has really been created, firstly, by David Cameron, by initiating a referendum on a deeply flawed premise, ‘Leave’ should have been more precisely defined, and secondly, by Theresa May for making a complete pigs ear out of the subsequent negotiations. For me, it is very interesting to look at the Green vote, not just in this country but across Europe too. I voted LibDem but I think that Green Party voters were considering wider issues than just Brexit. The biggest issue facing all of us is the environment and climate change; it is a very serious matter and something really needs to be done. The Green Party seems to be more or less alone in putting this to the fore. One of the reasons I want to remain in the EU is that I believe that we stand a much better chance of dealing with climate and environmental issues as part of Europe. None of the possible Tory leaders inspire any confidence that they will do this, nor does Corbyn. Green matters are far more important than Brexit; if we do not start to clean up the environment quite soon, then it won’t matter whether we are in or out of the EU. Please, think hard about who is going to do anything meaningful about this.

Sensible post and agree with you about the green issues to a degree although not about staying in the EU. Any new leader would or should listen to issues from all parties and then take on board the things that matter. People are like sheep and it’s about getting them on your side to a degree. Love him or hate him - Farage has charisma, personality and comes across as a people’s person. May is out of touch and Corbyn is just a W anker! I do think there’s a whole world out there where new deals can be done without being shackled!
