Werent there similar dangers for our 5th round tie against Everton in season 88-89 ?. Oakwell was totally packed that day and Ive heard fans say it was absolute chaos in the Ponty road end, as there were fears of crushing against the red 'barriers'.

Plenty of them have blood on their hands too , it's the innocents who died and their families I think of , not the ones who shouldn't have been there with no tickets, and hoping to be a smart arse getting in for nowt , they have been like this for decades, always, then moan when they get their arses kicked in Rome and the Rest of Europe
The Inquiry concluded that whilst they were a small number who arrived at Hillsborough that day without tickets it was the failure to process the huge number of fans who arrived late that contributed mainly to the tragedy , many arrived late because of problems on the M62 .

The number of fans who travelled without tickets was probably consistent with practically every other big club who played in an FA cup semi final in those days .

Bear in mind these aren't simply my opinions they are the findings of an official inquiry .

Everton fans were crushed at the old kop end and many had to be let through the gates on to the cinder track to relieve the pressure .

What was the attendance that day, can anybody remember ?. I remember Id never seen anything like it before, and luckily I was in the West stand rather than in the Ponty end.

They didn't charge down the tunnel to deliberately cause the deaths of 96 of their own fans .

They were unaware that the middle two sections were over capacity and nobody directed them to the outside pens which were barely a third full .

English clubs should have been banned long before that , Heysel was the final straw .

Almost every club over here for the best part of 20 years ran riot around europe , Liverpool didn't have a monopoly on football violence in europe , admittedly they were involved in the biggest tragedy that caused the loss of so many lives .

I wouldn't ever say Liverpool fans were angels because they weren't but they were no worse than many other clubs during that period .

Look at the problems fans who followed the national team caused ?

Again this is a comment/opinion that we're apparently not allowed to say or have anymore Roma, because it might offend the scousers.
Even though we all know its TRUE of course.

We've all discussed on here the inadequacies of the leppings lane end and this is after it was made all seater. The very same posters condemning the Liverpool supporters have at one time or another complained about the crushing on the internal concourse at half time and rightly so, it's a complete accident waiting to happen. However, should we ever see serious injury or heaven forbid a fatality would they blame our own fans for pushing or charging or the badly thought out stadium? Bit of both isn't it really.

There were serious incidents of crushing on that leppings lane end throughout the 80s in Cup semis. It was an accident waiting to happen. Circumstances and a clueless cheif superintendent didn't help matters in April 1989. There's a case for everyone involved that day to have guilt and regret. It's exactly like any other football disaster. The Burnden disaster in the 40s was caused by crushing and overcrowding. The Ibrox disaster was another waiting to happen. All tragic occurrences and you feel for the victims and their families.

There's an unfair stigma with the Hillsborough disaster even to this day. The way football fans were treated back then combined with the poor facilities meant that something like that was always in the offing. Like owt else in life though it took the loss of lives to address the situation seriously and football grounds updated.

That leppings lane stand should be condemned even today imo. It's a terrible design and despite the improvements since 1989 it still has potential to cause injury or even worse. Then again, us as human beings have potential to cause death or injury too. It's not a nice situation
