    I know I'm going to get loads of stick for this but here goes - he was never good enough but at least he put a shift in, to a certain extent could hold the ball up and certainly took the hits from opposition defenders. He couldn't hit a barn door with but when you look back to some of the genuinely talented but equally lazy forwards we've had over the years - Viduka & Kluivert spring to mind - he deserves a bit of credit. Still needs to go though!

    No stick, mate. I don't think any of us have anything against him on a personal level or have any gripes about his effort, etc. It's just that, unfortunately for him, he was symptomatic of everything that was wrong with the Ashley regime-shocking quality, cheapest option available, a player to take us backwards let alone tread water.

    Mind, I agree we've had worse. The two you mention had an appalling attitude whilst I'd add Riviere as a far worse player.
