I see the Nelms propaganda machine (sorry supporters) has started revving up on Pravda....obvious choice really, the home of propaganda 😁

FWIW I think it will happen because it’s another disaster for Nelms if he fails to do a deal so he’ll do whatever he can to avoid that.

I don’t believe Strachan overruled the appointment of Goodwin for McPake though. Who would allow someone who doesn’t (yet) work for the club to dictate one of the most important appointments for years?

Who said over ruled, he gave advise, if it happens it happens, it won’t be because Nelms needs it to happen, it will be because Strachan is happy with what he sees and has been offered

Nelms has simply appointed the manager he wanted rather than the manager the club needed, as per the last two appointments. Shame he wasted 3 weeks doing it and ripped the pish out of a decent guy at the same time. Just my thoughts, can't see Strachan having much of a say, that would be too ridiculous even for DFC.

    Hmac’s words were:

“Goodwin didn’t turn it down it was withdrawn on say so of Strachan”.

That suggests someone who doesn’t even work for the club is calling the shots rather than the boy who gets paid (a hefty sum by all accounts).

Nelms has a string of failed appointments from the McCann, Jack Ross back to McCann. Failing to appoint Craig Brown, Jeffries and some other guy to assist McCann before sacking him and offering job to McIntyre and then the whole Dodds shambles.

The fans are excited about prospect of Strachan so imo he needs to get it over the line to retain any shred of credibility.

HMAC was maybe a bit wrong about how the Goodwin final decision was made but you're miles off with your failing to appoint Brown or Jeffries nonsense. Don't believe everything you read on forums.

John Nelms retains the level of credibility amongst us Dundee fans that he always has.

That was straight from horses mouth. He talked about it in detail after the McIntyre sacking. He actually tried to bring Craig Brown in before sacking Hartley.

Only clip I can find is 21 mins into this interview: https://youtu.be/xgeX4b52OfU

I can assure you my information isn’t from forums.
