It was a cracking ground Mick, we were really going places, the lights had gone up in 79 we had just won the Southern Midland Division as Champions in 84/85, we had money, then crash, the bottom fell out of our world.

Funny story! I remember Gary Stevens, he got a fair few goals around that time, there was him, the Joinsons at Halesowen, Stan Jones at Stourbridge, Brian Beresford at Dudley, Gary Mathews at Willenhall, Kim Casey at Kidder all good goalscorers.

Here’s the last ever game played there, not that we knew at the time, it was a 2-0 win over Stourbridge in the white shirts.
