I was living in Asia and, for the first time, I could communicate with fellow fans and follow games online. It brought a new dimension to supporting our football club and the excitement of that promotion (and the one in the year before, it has to be said,) was something I hadn't experienced for a long time...

I remember well, on the the message board that Big Rich initially set up, the almost endless thread of congratulatory messages that came from all over the country when we'd secured our place. It doesn't happen so much now - communication on social media is such an everyday thing - but at the time it was quite overwhelming.
