He must be mad.
I wouldn’t touch the job unless I had it in writing as to who was staying and how much there is to spend.
I like Bilic but I fear this is going to end in tears quickly because of our “recruitment” team and their lack of nous.

Bilic comes across as a strong character and that is what we need. The problem I see is the same as Mick in that when he has been on tv he says the Manager needs to be the boss so that he gets respect from the players. We have seen a few times already that the senior players at many clubs, including ours, seem to be able to do what they want and undermine the Manager.
Jenkins and Dowling need to let him get on with the job because if they don’t I can’t see him staying and I forecast he will walk before Xmas if they stop him getting on with the job he is paid to do. Obviously the Manager should not be able to buy and sell who he wants without sanction, it isn’t his money after all, but he needs to be the one managing not just coaching what he is given.
The question is are the club prepared for that and I suspect this is what is holding up the whole process because Lai has been sold the Head coach model and that hasn’t worked. Maybe, just maybe, Lai the businessman can see that and realises that he needs to change the business model at the club going back to a Manager supported/sanctioned by the DoF and CEO rather than them making the decisions and the coach having input, doing the coaching and picking the team.
Biggest disaster since AFI.
I believe it when i see him holding the scarf. Some reports saying he has agreed a three year deal so must have been promised something if true, but as i say, believe it when you see it.
Out of all the names we have been associated with this is the one that excites me. I never wanted Hughton, we have had enough of the run of the mill, humdrum, safety first shyte the last few seasons. We are West Bromwich Albion and that is not our style.
The man is eccentric. (he likes to play music to the team), he is passionate, ( how long since we saw passion on the touchline?) plays expansive football, is outspoken and a maverick.
It will be interesting to see who he brings with him as the decks are being cleared....if he comes.
His knowledge of the European leagues will be a bonus too, we could pick up a few bargains. Got to be a better fit for us than the Cowleys, ( though i would have given them support) or Snotter Appleton.
