But the refereeing has been pretty poor all told
Some of this women's football has been brilliant. Defenders better. And some of the keeping absolutely top notch.
Very good .
But the refereeing has been pretty poor all told
Agree. The one v Cameroon shocking.
She was seeing things from a slanted perspective
I quite like it. Really refreshing to see no diving about or trying to get players booked or sent off. Loads of attacking football.
Just wish they’d stop comparing the records to the men’s. You wouldn’t take all the records and medals off the fastest female sprinters and give them all to Bolt.
It is finding an audience and the attendances are increasing. Let it grow in its own right.
Its coming home!!!
As a matter of interest , at what level of our own tiers of football ( male) would you guys put the top 5 women's international teams?
USA should win it, on form. France will have the crowd behind them, but still probably not quite good enough .
England are playing a 4-5-1 formation that is supposed to be 4-3-3 and tend to get tired after the first hour. Lack of firepower up front... all of which sounds strangely familiar for some reason Fairly easy draw so far, and might make the semi-final.
Canada looked useful, and until last night, Brazil looked capable of reaching the final. Japan nowhere near as good as in previous two tournaments - they have been caught up and passed now.

I truly think it’s not comparable because of the physical element. There’s no reason women shouldn’t be able to compete at the same level of darts or snooker one day. Horse racing is already happening but physical sports are different. Boxing? Football, rugby? No chance.
